Teaching Assistant Full time

The Windmills Junior School is seeking to appoint a full time teaching assistant to work within KS2. This is a temporary position for the whole of the academic year.

We are a happy, caring junior school with more than 370 children on roll. We are looking for a warm, dynamic and flexible individual to join our team. We see the role of teaching assistants as essential to children’s learning and therefore require a passionate, highly skilled and professional person to take on this key role. Good English and maths skills are essential in able to support our learners. Recent experience in a primary school and working with children is desirable.

In addition to your TA responsibilities, you will also be a mid-day-meals supervisor, supporting the children’s personal and social education on the playground, teaching them how to play and supporting this crucial part of their learning.

 

Salary: Grade 3 - Point 3, which is an annual salary of £18,065 pro rata

Days: The post is 5 days a week - working 9am to 3:15pm.

The successful candidate will:

· have a passion for working with children

· be able to build positive relationships with everyone

· have an optimistic and positive attitude and be flexible to the demands of the job

· be patient and able to stay calm and listen to and value the children

· be suitably qualified for the post of teaching assistant i.e. have a good literacy and numeracy skills (to GCSE level or higher)

· have good mathematical skills that could be used to support children working up to year 6 (good understanding of tables, division, problem solving and fractions)

· be able to work as part of a team, and

· have the ability to maintain confidentiality

Part-time Individual Needs Assistant

Mornings only 9am – 12.00

 

The Windmills Junior School is seeking to appoint an Individual Needs Assistant for a specific year 3 child (going into yr 4) with special needs. We are a happy, caring junior school with more than 370 children on roll. We are looking for a warm, dynamic and flexible individual to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting this individual to succeed in their learning. This post requires a passionate, highly skilled and professional person to take on this key role. Good English and maths skills are essential to be able to break down the learning into small achievable steps. The job will involve working closely with and supporting an individual child with an EHC plan, helping them to succeed independently within a classroom setting. The child has ASC, dyslexia and dyspraxia and is a very likeable and engaging character, with no behavioural issues. Recent experience in a primary school and working with children with specific needs is desirable. The post will involve day-to-day class support as well as delivering bespoke additional interventions.

Salary: Grade 3, Point 3, which is an annual salary of £18,065 pro rata – actual salary £6,084.

Days: The post is 5 mornings a week - working 15 hours per week – 9am -12pm /3 hrs per day, term-time only.

The job is attached to the child so is temporary for the duration of the time that the child is with us. After two years the post would become permanent in line with employment laws.
