KS2 Class Teacher – From September 2022 – Full time – permanent

-  Teacher Mainscale M1-M6 & ETCs welcome to apply

The Windmills Junior School is looking to recruit an ambitious and skilled practitioner, to join our positive, strong and dynamic teaching team from September 2022. We believe in delivering learning through creative and motivational lessons that ensure every child develops a love of learning and a personal drive to make progress. We are looking to build on our recent ‘GOOD’ grading and continue to build on our educational offer. If you are interested in making a real difference and you approach change positively then we want to hear from you.

We are looking for:

  • An enthusiastic role model with a passion for teaching and learning
  • A teacher who has the desire to ensure that every child reaches their full potential
  • Someone with very high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • A teacher that is willing to innovate and take risks to improve learning for all – embracing positive change
  • Someone that embraces active learning
  • A team player who is totally committed to working collaboratively on the school’s development priorities and using our agreed teaching pedagogy – based on strong AFL
  • A practitioner who values the working relationship between parents and school and the value it can add to children’s education

We can offer you:

  • Well behaved and motivated children who love to learn
  • A strong team ethos with a committed team of professionals who plan together and support each other (3 form entry – sharing workload and expertise)
  • A whole school commitment to doing the very best for every child in our school
  • A glorious setting and outdoor learning opportunities in our extensive grounds
  • Supportive parents and governors

We are looking for a strong teacher who can impact positively on the young people that they teach and as part of the team rather than a teacher who has a particular subject strength.

If you could fulfil this role, we warmly invite you to find out more about us by looking at our website www.windmills.w-sussex.sch.uk and reading our Ofsted report.   Visits to the school are recommended but we understand that there is a tight turn around before the deadline.

We are offering tours at the below times:

Monday 23rd May: 8.00am / 9.30am / 2.00pm / 4.15pm

Tuesday 24th May: 8.00am / 9.30am / 2.00pm / 4.45pm

If you are interested in a tour we will make sure that there is someone available from the senior leadership team to facilitate this at the above times. There is no need to book in for a tour.

If you decide to make an application please include, in your supporting statement, how your skills and experience match the specifics listed above and the following two points:

What do you do to ensure that you embed learning into children’s long term memory?

How do you make a real difference as a teacher?

The Windmills Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects the staff team to share this commitment. The post is subject to satisfactory references, a DBS check, evidence of your right to work in the UK and an Occupational Health check.
