Parental rights
Religious education (RE)
Parents have the legal right to withdraw their child from all or part of religious education lessons. Before you do this, we would encourage you to review the curriculum and discuss any concerns with your child's teacher. If you wish to proceed with withdrawing your child from all or part of RE, please email the Headteacher via the school office.
Our RE policy is available on our policies page.
Relationships, social and health education (RSHE)
Parents only have the right to withdraw their children from areas which are not covered within the science curriculum. Parent consultation sessions are held each year prior to the teaching of sex education in order to provide opportunity to discuss what the children are learning and to address any concerns.
Before you make the decision to withdraw your child, you must have a discussion with the headteacher to ensure that your decision is fully understood, and that any concerns are appropriately addressed.
Our RSHE policy is available on our policies page.
