Welcome to The Windmills Junior School

I am proud and delighted to welcome you to The Windmills Junior School. We are a happy and thriving junior school that is firmly part of the community of Hassocks. Providing a welcoming and rich environment for all children is at the heart of what we do.

 

I firmly believe that a rich, nurturing and welcoming school environment coupled with strong academic progress and achievement is key to supporting our pupils be best prepared for their next steps. However, just as important is what happens outside of the classroom. As well as a teaching a broad curriculum, children are encouraged to take part in the wide range of extra-curricular clubs that we offer, from Lego, dance, contact rugby, Warhammer, creative writing, art and much, much more. These clubs and enrichment opportunities build bonds, showcase (sometimes hidden) talents, and provide opportunities for children to express themselves and shine in ways that are not always possible in the classroom.

 

We are blessed with large playgrounds, a field and forest school area, and we are located next to Downlands Community School which gives us access to their sports and other specialist facilities.

 

I am proud to run a school that is so happy, kind and nurturing and which also provides a brilliant all-round education.
