Admission Arrangements
The Windmills Junior School is categorised as a Community School consisting of three classes within each year group and a published admission number (PAN) of 360. The age range of the children is 7-11 years.
West Sussex County Council are responsible for our admissions, and applications should be made online directly to them. Please follow the link below for information on school admissions, oversubscription criteria, and the appeal process.
We welcome visits from prospective families prior to making an application. Please phone 01273 842421 to make an appointment to meet the Headteacher and to have a tour of the school with your child.
The majority of our children transfer to ‘Windmills’ in the September following their seventh birthday from Hassocks Infants School. Both schools liaise closely to ensure the transition is a smooth one. There are opportunities for Infant children and their parents to visit ‘Windmills’ prior to September and to deal with any worries or difficulties that they may have.
Pupils transfer to secondary school in the September following their eleventh birthday. The majority of pupils transfer to Downlands Community School with whom we share a campus. Liaison between the two schools is very close, and visits to Downlands, and other secondary schools, for both parents and children are arranged to ensure a smooth transition.
